45-Year Norristown Education Professional Retires: Report

That's a long time.

A long-time Norristown educator is finally hanging up the spikes.

Norristown native Irvin Wright, who has been in the education sphere for 45 years, has announced his retirement, according to a Times Herald report.

Wright reportedly worked for Bloomsburg University for many of those years under the Act 101 program, which Bloomsburg’s website says provides “support and opportunities for success to students traditionally under-represented in higher education.”

Wright, who played football for Norristown and then later for Bloomsburg, added that his time in the borough was formative for his sense of discipline, the report states.

“Growing up in Norristown equipped me with some skills I never knew I needed,” he reportedly said.
