$7 Million Community Space Proposed In Norristown
The "community and recreation space" is still in the planning stages, and officials want local residents to help shape it.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A new $7 million project creating a community center and recreational space in Norristown is in the preliminary planning stages, officials have announced, and they're seeking public input on how to best move the project foward.
Specifics on the project, which would be executed using American Rescue Plan Act funds, are not clear. It appears it could still take several forms, and the funding could be given to a specific, though yet unnamed, organization to create the center.
In the planning stages, the Montgomery County Recovery Office is asking Norristown residents to attend a virtual meeting this week, and to complete an online survey to help them identify specific needs.

"This process will catalogue existing Norristown assets and resources, review current plans and projects in design or underway, identify community needs, and assist the community in determining the best use of these funds to support a shared vision," officials aid.
The county is also keeping open the possibility of using the funding to not create a new space, but to simply renovate an existing area.
