Amid Measles Outbreak, Contact Tracing Remains Underway In Montco

Officials say there are two known "exposure events" in the county, and are urging unvaccinated individuals who were exposed to quarantine.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The latest measles outbreak in southeastern Pennsylvania has not yet led to any confirmed cases in Montgomery County, however officials continue to investigate two separate "exposure events" in the county that may have caused infections.

The outbreak has caused eight cases in Philadelphia and put hospitals around the region on alert.

It’s not the first outbreak recently, as an anti-vaccine furor has contributed to a rise in cases of viruses like the measles that haven’t posed a real threat for decades. A Montgomery County child tested positive last July, raising alarms on the disease.
