NORRISTOWN, PA — Just days after Montgomery County experienced historic, record-breaking heat, a Code Blue cold weather emergency has been declared.
Temperatures will plummet into the low 30s or possibly the high 20s on Monday night into Tuesday morning, with the wind chill dropping even lower.
The Code Blue is in place from 9 p.m. Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The drastic temperature shifts can have serious impacts on trees, spring blooms, and crops.
A Code Blue declaration allows the county to marshal additional resources for residents. If you know of someone who needs emergency shelter, call the Your Way Home Call Center at 610-278-3522.
