Stretch Of Germantown Pike To Be Restricted Through End Of 2026, Adding To Congestion

EAST NORRITON TOWNSHIP, PA — A section of Germantown Pike will be reduced to a single lane in each direction through the end of the year as new construction gets underway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

The restriction will impact Germantown Pike from Mill Road to Hannah Avenue in East Norriton.

Work will begin on Tuesday, May 26 and continued through Dec. 31.

It's part of the larger $55 million project to widen and reconstruct U.S. 202 in Norristown, East Norriton, and Whitpain.

Five foot bicycle lanes will be installed in both directions across the entire project area, as well as new sidewalks in multiple locations, a new bridge, new sound walls and retaining walls, new traffic signals and pavement markings, and drainage improvements.

Drivers should plan for additional delays.
