NORRISTOWN, PA — Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown will offer free admission on three holidays this summer as part of the ongoing local celebrations and promotions related to America 250 and the semiquincentennial.
Admission for all guests will be free on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day.
“This is a great way for us to give something back to the community while celebrating what makes these holidays meaningful,” Al Zone, CEO of Elmwood Park Zoo, shared in a statement. “We’re excited to open our doors to everyone and create a place where people can spend time together, enjoy the Zoo, and connect with nature.”
Guests can register for their free tickets ahead of time online here.
The zoo said that local brewery Bald Birds Brewing Company will be on site on the holidays pouring a special beer made for the zoo's celebrations this summer, "Founding Feathers."
Daughters of the American Revolution will also be on hand handing out free American flags to guests.
Large crowds are expected on each of the free days and guests should plan to arrive early, the zoo said.
