NORRISTOWN, PA — The boil water advisory has been lifted in Norristown and Plymouth Township, officials announced Wednesday morning.
Acceptable test results were received by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Wednesday. Samples were taken on both Monday and Tuesday.
It comes ahead of the estimated resolution time of Friday, July 10.
The advisory covered portions of Norristown and Plymouth Township, including areas of Fairfield Road, Jefferson Street, Volpe Road, Penn Road, Regatta Circle, Plymouth Boulevard, Boyer Boulevard, Northview Boulevard, and the Plymouth Flats Apartments.
A total of 1,069 connections were impacted.
There was a loss of pressure in the distribution system due to an equipment failure Monday, officials said, which may have allowed contamination to enter the distribution system through back pressure.
