NORRISTOWN, PA — An investigation is underway after an early morning shooting at Norristown State Hospital, police said.
Authorities have provided almost no information yet on the incident, which occurred at around 7 a.m. on the 1000 block of Sterigere Street.
Both NBC Philadelphia and 6ABC report that a 25-year-old man shot himself.
The man was taken to Jefferson Einstein Hospital in East Norriton where he is being treated, according to reports.
Police are continuing to investigate.
