Another 'Code Blue' Declared In Montco As Frigid Temps Move In

Dangerously cold weather will hit the region Wednesday night into Thursday.

NORRISTOWN, PA — With more frigid temperatures on the way, local officials have issued a Code Blue cold weather emergency in Montgomery County Wednesday night heading into Thursday morning.

The Code Blue went into effect at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 and will expire at 8 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 9.

Temperatures will plummet to the low to mid twenties in much of Montgomery County, with the wind chill dipping even lower.

Code Blue indicates that "winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter," officials said.

Overnight and over the next few days, residents should check in on the elderly and neighbors to make sure their homes are heated.

Pets should also have only limited outdoor time, and vehicles should be stocked with antifreeze and an emergency kit, as well as fully inflated tires.
