Arctic Cold, Gusts Bringing Dangerous Wind Chills To Eastern PA
"This will be the coldest air in a couple of years" in the region, the National Weather Service says.
EASTERN PA — Monday will start with extreme cold in southeastern Pennsylvania, as powerful wind gusts and frigid temperatures will lead to dangerous cold weather conditions throughout the region.
Monday will see a high of 30 with a low plunging down to 16 degrees on Monday night. Wind gusts of around 15 miles per hour and potentially higher will swing through the region.
"This will be the coldest air in a couple of years" in the region, the National Weather Service says. Wind chills could be in the negative temperatures in parts of eastern Pennsylvania, and is not forecasted to be above 5 degrees anywhere in the region.

The Arctic front will be especially dangerous for those without access to reliable heating or shelter, and pets. Residents should check on vulnerable neighbors, including the elderly, to ensure their safety.
There's also the potential for pipes to freeze overnight, and for ice to form on roads as the deep freeze sets in.
