Armed Woman Causes Disturbance In Park, Arrested In Norristown: Police

Police tracked down an armed woman Wednesday night after she brandished a firearm in a local park.

NORRISTOWN, PA — An armed woman who caused a disturbance in a local park Wednesday night was arrested shortly thereafter in Norristown.

Gabrielle Ariana Scott, 29, of Lansdale, faces numerous charges, including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

The incident began at Warrior Field on Level Road in Lower Providence Township at around 9:37 p.m.

A local resident called 911 after Scott began brandishing the firearm in a threatening manner, police said.

Further details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and it's unknown how many potential victims were involved. "A complete investigative process requires information to be limited to maintain the integrity of the investigation," the Lower Providence Police Department said in a statement.

While police were still on the way to the field, Scott left the area and drove to Norristown, according to authorities.

Some 20 minutes later, Scott's vehicle was located at Dekalb and East Spruce streets in Norristown, and she was taken into custody nearby.

Bail was set at $10,000 and Scott was released. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 26.
