Audubon Resident Honored at Cradles to Crayons’ Student Recognition Night
Cradles to Crayons honored 19 remarkable students who have highly impacted the organization throughout the year.

On the night of Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 Cradles to Crayons®, a non-profit organization which provides basic essentials to children living in homeless or low-income situations, honored a group of Student Leaders, ranging from 6-18, who were inspired this year to take action and make a difference in the lives of local children in need. These students and their families were invited to the Philadelphia Giving Factory, located in West Conshocken, Pennsylvania, to enjoy desert and light refreshments as Cradles to Crayons thanked them for all the hard work they put forth.
Rebecca Woodward of Audubon, a senior at Methacton High School, was one of the honored recipients of Cradles to Crayons’ Student Leader award. Rebecca chose to complete her Senior Project over the winter and realized that many of the children served by Cradles to Crayons lack a warm coat during the colder months. To creatively spread the word and collect winter gear to support these kids in need, Rebecca advertised and hosted a movie night for her fellow students, where admission was either a donated child’s coat or monetary contribution. By promoting this coat drive on her school’s announcements, in her extracurricular activities, and in her classes, Rebecca was able to help us keep kids more than 30 kids warm this past winter.
