Audubon's J.P. Mascaro and Sons Awarded $15 Million in Public Sector Contracts

Local waste service company J.P. Mascaro earned a huge payday with contracts from several new local municipalities.

Audubon's J.P. Mascaro and Sons, the local waste service company, has been awarded more than $15 million new public sector contracts, according to a press release issued Tuesday.

In Pennsylvania, public sector contracts are awarded after a competitive bidding process to assure that qualified companies are providing the required services and to assure that public entities are receiving quality, cost-efficient services.

The latest round of contracts include work with the Boroughs of Exeter, Media, West Conshohocken and Old Forge, and with Plainfield Township, the City of Camden, and the Philadelphia School District.

Mascaro said that win represents record growth in its public sector contract business.

“Our company has been extremely successful in being awarded public sector contracts because we own and operate our own DEP-permitted transfer stations, landfills, and recycling facilities; we have unmatched experience in providing required public sector waste services; we have a modern fleet of collection and transportation vehicles and equipment; and we have highly qualified and dedicated management and line employees," said Pat Mascaro, president. "This winning combination enables our company to be successful on a large number of the public sector contracts we bid on, and to provide municipalities and other public sector customers with the highest quality service at a reasonable cost."

J. P. Mascaro and Sons began as a one truck operation in 1964, according to their website.

According to a press release, the company attributes their growth over the last half century to an "an unparalleled" financial and operational commitment to developing company-owned and operated infrastructure.

Tha includes four DEP-permitted landfills, three DEP-permitted transfer stations, the largest DEP beneficial use compost facility in Pennsylvania, three recycling centers, 17 operating divisions, and a modern fleet of waste collection and transportation vehicles and waste service containers, the release states.

The company is headquartered on 2650 Audubon Road in Audubon.
