Bill Cosby Trial: Defense Rests, Closing Arguments Follow
Bill Cosby's defense rests on the 11th day of the star's trial, after he declined to testify in his own defense.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The trial of actor and comedian Bill Cosby is nearing its end Monday, after the star declined to testify in his own defense, effectively ending the trial. After closing arguments on Tuesday, the jury will begin deliberating, according to reports.
Dana DiFilippo of WHYY tweeted at 1:58 Monday that Cosby declined to testify and that closing arguments will begin Tuesday morning. "Jurors could be mulling Cosby's fate by lunchtime tomorrow," she said.
Cosby's legal team had been pushing for Judge Steven O'Neill to allow old testimony which they believe would discredit Andrea Constand, who claims Cosby had sexually assaulted her. Cosby's attorneys believed the testimony of Sheri Williams, who had known Constand at the time of the alleged assault, would show that Constand was not an "unwitting victim," PhillyVoice reported.
