Bill Cosby's Trial Jurors Will Be From The Pittsburgh Area
Jurors from the Pittsburgh area will decide the fate of the fallen Philadelphia comedy icon, Bill Cosby.

In a bitter and perhaps ironic twist of fate, jurors from the Pittsburgh area will decide the fate of Bill Cosby, the fallen comedy icon with ties to the Philadelphia area.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled late on Monday that the jurors for the trial of Bill Cosby will be selected from a pool in Allegheny County. The decision, signed by Chief Justice Thomas G. Saylor, came after Montgomery County Judge Steven T. O'Neill ruled that Cosby's trial could not be moved from the local area, but its jurors could be from another county.
After Philadelphia, Allegheny is the second most populous county in Pennsylvania, according to US Census data.

Cosby's lawyers had argued at length that their client would not receive a fair trial in the Philadelphia area because pretrial publicity had unfairly tarnished his reputation, dating back to the 2015 Montgomery County District Attorney's race.
Cosby, 79, faces charges of felony indecent assault against former friend Andrea Constand, a Temple University employee. The trial date is set for June 5.
