Boyle's Bill Would've Made White House Pay For Trump's Fla. Trips
House Republicans defeated a measure that would have required the White House to pay for President Trump's trips to Mar-a-Lago.

House Republicans defeated a measure introduced by Montgomery County's U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-13) that would have required the White House to pay for President Trump's personal trips to Florida.
As it stands, the bill for the President's frequent flights to his property in Mar-a-Lago, Florida is footed by the Department of Defense. That's because all Air Force One travel is covered by the Department of Defense. Thus far, Boyle says the trips have cost taxpayers $17 million.
"Republicans have once again refused to stand up to President Trump and his abuse of taxpayer dollars," Boyle, a vocal opponent of the President, said in a statement.

Boyle's amendment would have reimbursed the Department by directing the funding from the White House to the Department's Office of Small Business Programs.
The President has made a total of 17 trips to his Mar-a-Lago property since he took office.
