Bryce Harper And His Wife Are Expecting Their First Baby
Phillies new superstar Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla are expecting a baby boy.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Phillies new superstar Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla are expecting a baby boy, the couple announced Monday via Instagram.
The child, which is their first, is due in August.
"Philly raised little man will be!" Harper wrote, sharing a picture of him standing with his wife near the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Harper, who signed a North American sports record 13-year, $330 million free agent contract with the Phillies in February, made it clear that he was looking for a place to raise his family. His contract includes a no-trade clause, and there is no opportunity for him to opt-out of the deal, which will be in place until 2032.

Harper turned down a contract from the Los Angeles Dodgers which would have offered him a significantly larger chunk of money per year in the short term ($45 million a year) because he reportedly wanted "to be in one city for the rest of his career."

So far, so good for the Harper-Philadelphia relationship, as the Phillies swept their opening series against the Braves behind Harper's two home runs. They are the only undefeated in team in baseball.
