Budget Freeze Could Mean Layoffs In Norristown School District: Report

Things are not getting better.

With the state budget in gridlock, the Norristown Area School District is desperately trying to find a way to keep all of its employees, according to a Times Herald report.

The district is struggling to find a way to function at full capacity without $16.5 million in state and federal subsidies, the report states.

If the budget is not resolved by Thanksgiving, according to the report, the district will have to either borrow money, fire staff, or both.
