Census 2020 Jobs Paying Up To $27 An Hour Hiring In Montco

NORRISTOWN, PA — Looking for a job in the Norristown area and hoping to giving back to your community? Flexible, part time roles are now available through the local census office.

A recruitment event will be held by the Norristown Area Census Office on Jan. 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Up to 3,000 applicants are needed to fill various positions, the county said. One of the biggest needs is door to door workers who collect information from those who have not filled out online, phone, or mail forms. The roles pay up to $27 per hour.

Accurately assessing local populations is crucial for local communities to get the state and federal funding they require.

"Applicants will play a critical role in ensuring everyone in Montgomery County is counted in 2020," the county said in a statement. "In the 2010 census, Pennsylvania had the second-highest rate of forfeited funds per person due to undercounted individuals."

Just a five percent undercount could cost county residents up to $72 million annually in funding for schools, infrastructure, Medicaid, SNAP, housing vouchers, and senior programs.

The hiring event will take place at the Montgomery County OIC on 1101 Arch Street in Norristown.
