Citing Rise In Homlessness, Montco Looks To Fund Community Projects
The county wants to support numerous community projects, including services for the homeless, low income housing, and more.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Grants for homeless services, housing development, community development, and more are now available through Montgomery County, officials announced this week. It comes as officials point to an increase in homelessness in the wake of both the pandemic and the ensuing historic inflation rate.
Officials said grants were being accepted for projects like emergency shelters, home rehabilitiation, economic development, and bridge assistance.
"With the rise in homelessness, the shortage of affordable housing, and the recent reduction of COVID relief funds, I encourage all eligible nonprofits, municipalities, and developers to learn more about these funding opportunities," Montgomery County Commissioner Ken Lawrence said in a statement.
