Code Blue Declared In Montco As Dangerous Cold Coming
Pre-Thanksgiving wind chills could be lethal in Montgomery County, officials warn.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency has been issued in Montgomery County as dangerously cold weather is coming through the region.
The Code Blue will be in place from Monday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 8 a.m. The wind chill could plummet below 20 degrees overnight.
While temperatures may only reach the 20s or 30s the next few nights, the wind chill will make conditions more treacherous for vulnerable individuals, officials said.

Authorities urge residents to check on neighbors, the elderly, and anyone they know of who may be exposed to the elements.
The county offers the following tips for extreme cold weather situations:

- Check on elederly friends and neighbors and those most at risk
- Make sure your car is winterized with antifreeze, a full tank of gas, properly inflated tires, and is stocked with an emergency kit
- Check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
- Wear appropriate clothing and avoid prolonged exposure when going outdoors in winter weather
- Limit pets' time outdoors during extreme temperatures
