Code Blue Declared In Montco As Dangerous Freeze Sweeps Through Region
Dangerously cold temperatures are on the way to the area, and the county is taking extra precautions.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A "code blue" cold weather emergency has been declared in Montgomery County as a cold front that could bring potentially life-threatening conditions for those without shelter looms this weekend.
The declaration is in effect from 8 p.m. on Friday through 8 a.m. on Saturday. It helps the county and the Department of Public Safety marshal additional resources needed to protect the public, especially vulnerable residents.
The wind chill is expected to be below 20 degrees in the coming days.

- Winterize your car with antifreeze, a full tank of gas, an emergency kit, and inflated tires
- Make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are functioning
- Limit the time pets spend outdoors
- Report power the utility company, do not call 911
