A family is reaching out to the public for help after a young paraplegic man lost his wheelchair while rowing in the Schuylkill River.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A family is reaching out to the public for help after a young paraplegic man lost his wheelchair while rowing in the Schuylkill River.

The West Conshohocken Police Department shared a message from Barbara Ganther, who said that her son Frank was on the river on Saturday in a canoe when it tipped.

The swift current, swelled by recent rains, swept away the wheelchair down toward the Manayunk area.

Police are asking for help in locating the chair, in the possibility that it's washed ashore. It is a black Tylite model, with a serial number on the frame.

Anyone downstream of the Conshohocken area, from Lower Merion into Manayunk and Philadelphia, should keep an eye out for the chair.
