'Death by Trains' Tour Set At Norristown's Historic Montgomery Cemetery,

"A Scene of Horror" described the Exeter Train Wreck. This tour highlights train wrecks and those interred at the Montgomery Cemetery.

A tour of Norristown’s historic Montgomery Cemetery will highlight and honor those who died in train accidents in the late 19th and early 20th century.

The adult-only event will occur on August 29 at 7 p.m.

“Trains were the most popular means for long-distance travel before the automobile became popular,” a press release for the event stated. “They were large, heavy, and did a lot of damage when involved in accidents. This tour highlights those who have died in train accidents in the late 19 and early 20 century including the Exeter train accident that killed and injured many Montgomery County residents.”
