DeKalb Street Lanes To Be Shut Down In Norristown Next Week

Motorists should plan ahead as slowdowns are expected.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A major local roadway will see its lanes restricted next week as construction work gets underway.

DeKalb Street between Airy and Johnson streets in Norristown will see lane closures in both directions, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Utility adjustments will be underawy from May 15 through 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the overnight hours, milling and paving work will take place on May 14 from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., and May 15, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Motorists should plan for delays as slowdowns are expected.

It's part of a larger PennDOT effort to smooth out major area roadways over the next week, as dozens of highways and major roadways will be milled and paved.
