Election results are in.

Democrats swept races across the ballot, running unopposed in borough council and constable victories, and defeating all Republicans in the battle for the School Board.

Five Democrats vied with five Republicans for School Board, and the five Democrats came out on top.

In the county-wide races, Democrats enjoyed similar success.

Kevin Steel took down Bruce Castor, 55 percent to 44 percent, in the much heralded race for Montgomery County District Attorney. The result means that the way could be clear for charges to be pressed against Bill Cosy.

Sean Kilkenny defeated Russell Bono in the race for Sheriff.

And Democrat Bruce Haines beat Sharon Valentine-Thomas for Register of Wills. Former Pottstown Mayor Valentine-Thomas drew headlines earlier in October when she said she would not sign marriage certificates for same sex couples.
