Dorothy The Pig Rescued After Escape Onto PA Turnpike
A pig escaped from a trailer and into traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Wednesday.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — An adventurous pig named Dorothy wanted to see a little more of the world while riding in her trailer along the Pennsylvania Turnpike Wednesday.
Dorothy somehow managed to break out of her trailer and out onto the highway while she was moving through traffic in King of Prussia.
Her concerned owners were helped by Good Samaritan bystanders and Pennsylvania State Police in tracking down the errant piggie, CBS News reports.

Local animal lover and volunteer Allyson Stephens was taking Dorothy, a rescue pig, from her home in Spring City to a veterinary appointment in New Jersey when the incident occurred, 6ABC reports.
Dorothy suffered some minor injuries to her head but was otherwise uninjured in the Houdini act, according to officials.

Video from the scene showed Dorothy on the shoulder of the highway while she received a cool water bath and a few treats to help her fight off the heat.
Bystanders eventually helped Stephens goad Dorothy back to the trailer, where they pushed her back inside.
Reports state that Dorothy is about a year old, and that she will soon be moved to her forever home.
