Woman, Child Killed In Valley Forge Crash

Circumstances surrounding the crash are still foggy and an investigation is underway.

UPPER MERION, PA — A woman and a young child were killed in a late night crash in Valley Forge National Historical Park over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1:14 a.m. on Valley Forge Park Road.

The Toyota sedan, which was headed east, at some point left the road and struck a tree, police said. It's not clear what caused the crash.

The fatal victim was the front seat passenger, identified only as an adult woman. The driver, a man, suffered unknown injuries.

The child was airlifted to Children's Hospital in King of Prussia by Upper Merion Fire & EMS but died shortly thereafter.

An investigation is underway and is being led by the Upper Merion's Department Traffic Safety Unit and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau Forensic Services Unit.
