Bringing back the old kelly green uniforms from the 1970s is reportedly a "high priority" of Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie.

Lurie told reporters Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting that the iconic colors could be back as alternate uniforms as soon as 2020. The news was later shared by the official Eagles Twitter account.

“We’re working on that hard," Lurie said, according to Eagles.com beat writer Dave Spadaro."High priority. High priority. I don’t know if it will get done for the 2019 season, but I have some hopes for the 2020 season."

Restoring the kelly green uniforms in some capacity has been a goal of the Eagles and Lurie for years. The issue remains one of NFL protocol, which states that teams can not use more than one helmet. The Eagles understandably don't want to mix and match their current helmets with the old jersey colors, so they're working with the team on a solution.

The movement has gained traction from some fans, including those who grew up watching the Eagles in those colors. It's also attracted the attention of Eagle Alshon Jeffery:

Kelly green was used as the franchise's primary colors from 1935 to 1995. When Lurie bought the team, the new midnight green scheme was instituted. Since then, the black uniforms have been used as the alternate jersey.
