Eagles Player Acquitted Of Rape, Will Rejoin Team
"I still believe the victim," the DA in the case reportedly said. The NFL has cleared the player to rejoin the Birds.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Philadelphia Eagles lineman who was charged with rape earlier this year has been aquitted on all counts.
Offensive lineman Joshua Sills had been charged in Ohio back in February with rape and kidnapping in Dec. 2019. The not guilty verdict was issued Friday, and he's since been removed from the "exempt" list, which means he is permitted to join the team for travel, practices, and games, according to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero.
The Eagles said they expect him to rejoin the team this weekend.

"We are aware that the legal matter involving Joshua Sills has been adjuticated and he has been found not guilty," the Eagles said in a statement. "The organization has monitored the situation."
Sills, 25, was originally accused of "engaging in sexual activity that was not consensual and holding a victim against her will," Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office alleged.

"I still believe the victim," Yost said after the trial, according to Law and Crime, while Sills' lawyers reportedly called the accuser "the girl who cries wolf."
Sill appeared in only one regular season game in 2022, and did not play in any of the team's playoff games. He was signed as an undrafted rookie over the summer of 2022 out of Oklahoma State.
