PHILADELPHIA, PA — The 2023 Philadelphia Eagles are just one win away from the Super Bowl.

Before a roaring sellout crowd that saw the return of the playoff atmosphere to South Philadelphia just months after the Phillies World Series run, the Eagles dominated their archrival divisional foes, the New York Giants, 38 to 7.

They'll now head to the NFC Championship game next weekend at Lincoln Financial Field, where they'll face the winner of Sunday's San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys game. It's their first time back in the conference championship since they won it all in 2018.

The Birds left no doubt from the get-go, when Jalen Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith off a play action fake for a 40 yard gain. The Eagles scored shortly thereafter, after Hurts' statement-making 68 yard, 5 completions on 5 attempts opening drive.

Things only went more in the Birds direction from there, as the Birds took a 28-0 lead into the half with the offense firing on all cylinders. The Giants scored a touchdown to open the second half but the momentum was never in their favor. Entering the game heavy underdogs before an imploding Philly crowd, it never seemed like New York stood a chance.

Numerous moments could be pointed to as clinching the game for the Eagles, but none was so devastating to Giant hopes as Eagles cornerback and former G-man James Bradberry, who was released by New York, intercepting Daniel Jones and ending a drive the second quarter.

Hurts ended the night 16 for 24 for 154 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 34 yards rushing. But the Eagles defense was even more dominant, all but eliminating the Giants scoring chances.

It marks the latest chapter in a long and storied rivalry between the two NFC East foes. The franchises have the honor of defeating all time great Tom Brady in the Super Bowl three times altogether. Saturday marked the fifth playoff matchup between the squads, who each entered the game with two playoff wins each against their opponent.

The NFC Championship game will be held on Sunday, January 29 at 3 p.m. Ticket information is not yet available, but will likely be announced shortly.
