BIRDSBORO, PA β€” An eastern Pennsylvania man was arrested Wednesday in connection with his role in the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol, federal authorities said.

Anthony Nolf, 37, of Birdsboro in Berks County, faces a felony charge of civil disorder and numerous other counts.

Nolf, along with Millsboro, Delaware woman Heather Kepley, moved bike racks from an area near the inaugural stage so that rioters would have a clear pathway into the Capitol, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The pair joined a large crowd that moved into a tunnel that was attempting to break into the Capitol, police said.

While in the tunnel, Nolf "added his force, momentum, body, and effort to the other rioters in a 'heave-ho' effort" that aimed to break down the barrier of police officers set up to block access to the Capitol, according to federal authorities.

"This put intense aggregate pressure on the police line in front of the rioters," the U.S. Attorney's Office added.

Nolf was also charged with misdemeanors of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds.

The FBI’s Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington field offices are conducting the investigation, assisted by U.S. Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department
