NORRISTOWN, PA — As businesses continue to adapt to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Elmwood Park Zoo remains at the forefront of creative ways to remain involved with the public.

The zoo recently launched a new "drive-thru safari" for Memorial Day weekend. The experience sold out quickly.

The program takes guests on a tour through many animals that are not on exhibit, and features interaction with Elmwood's educational ambassadors and environmental interpreters.

Many of the animals are typically only found in the zoo's Zoo-On-Wheels program, like Noah the bald eagle and Stella the Temple Owl.

The tour will be set up in Elmwood's lower parking lots. There will also be a chance for guests to visit the zoo's three giraffes as they enter the top parking lot.

Tickets for these 15 minute sessions were $25 for non-members per car.

The zoo has not yet announced future dates for this program.
