'Explosion Noises' Heard In Upper Merion Posed No Danger: Police

Authorities said that the noises heard by some residents on Monday were no threat to the public, and came from outside of the township.

UPPER MERION, PA — Police said that the explosions that were heard by residents in parts of Upper Merion Township on Monday posed no danger, and originated from outside of the township.

The exact nature of the explosion noises is still unclear. But Upper Merion Police Chief Thomas Nolan told Patch that they were part of a police training exercise nearby in Tredyffrin and Radnor townships.

Tredyffrin Township notified local residents about the training earlier Monday.
