First Snow Of The Season Hits PA Forecast
Temperatures are dropping below freezing just as another storm front heads to the region this week.
PENNSYLVANIA — Freezing temperatures are predicted to hit the region just as another storm front comes through this week, forecasters said, potentially leading to the first snow of the season in parts of Pennsylvania.
Precipitation is currently slated to begin later Tuesday afternoon, and will continue through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow is currently predicted in a narrow band for all of northern Pennsylvania, from east to west, as well as a strip running northward from Laurel Highlands in southwestern Pennsylvania, AccuWeather says.

"Unseasonably cold conditions will continue for the center of the country through the eastern U.S. this week, setting the stage for potential wintry weather," AccuWeather Meteorologist Nicole LoBiondo said.
Right now, the greater Philadelphia region is predicted to receive rain. But that could change. "While most areas will have rain, a wintry mix is expecte dacross the southern Poconos and parts of northwest New Jersey," the National Weather Service adds.

What's more certain is the cold front. A freeze warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Monday night to 9 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service said. Another warning seems likely later in the week. "Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," the agency added. Temperatures as low as 28 are possible in the area.
