Flyers refuse to quit and beat the Penguins in the NHL playoffs

Philadelphia trails the series three games to two with game six being played Sunday at 3 p.m Eastern Time. NBC is televising the game.

Nobody can say the Philadelphia Flyers are quitters.

Down three games to one to the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions in the first-round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, it would have been easy to give up and start looking forward to next season.

Not these Flyers, as they won 4-2 over the Penguins Friday night to force a game six in Philadelphia at 3 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday. The game is being televised nationally by NBC.

Sean Couturier scored the game winning goal Friday night with 1:18 to go in the third period after he had missed game four with an injury. In their three playoff losses to the Penguins, Philadelphia has been outscored 17-1.

Couturier was modest after the contest, his team still being down three games to two.

"I was just trying to take it one shift at a time," he said Friday night to the Associated Press. "Win your one-on-one battles, keep it simple. For the Flyers, Michal Neuvirth had 30 saves on 32 shots on goal while Pittsburgh goalie Matt Murray had 21 saves on 24 shots on goal.
