Four Night Code Blue Declared In Montgomery County
Another bout of very cold temperatures is swinging through the area.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Another bout of very cold temperatures is swinging through the Montgomery County region, and county leadership has declared a Code Blue cold weather emergency.
The declaration is in place from Wednesday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 9 a.m.
Wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour, along with up to two inches of rainfall before the freeze sets in, could combine to create lethal conditions.

Code Blue declarations allow the county to marshal additional resources for the region to help those who need shelter and other assistance.

- Check on elderly friends and neighbors frequently to ensure that their homes are adequately heated
- If you see someone in need of immediate emergency assistance, call or text 9-1-1
- Make sure your car is winterized with antifreeze, a full tank of gas, properly inflated tires, and is stocked with an emergency kit
- Check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
- Wear appropriate clothing and avoid prolonged exposure when going outdoors in winter weather
- Limit pets' time outdoors during extreme temperatures
- Report power outages directly to your utility company; DO NOT call 9-1-1
