Free Fishing Seminar To Be Held At Norristown's Centre Theater

An expert fisheries scientist will share tips, tricks, and stories on freshwater fishing in the Schuylkill River and beyond.

The Schuylkill River Town Program, an initiative of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, is hosting a seminar entitled "Cast Away: Freshwater Fishing in the Schuylkill & Beyond" at Norristown's Centre Theater on March 26th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

The event will be moderated by Gerry Waterfield, an expert fisherman and fisheries scientist with 30 years of experience. Mr. Waterfield brings an in-depth knowledge of fish life histories, development projects in local lakes and rivers, identification of fish species, fish habitat analysis, and fish habitat restoration, having worked on research and development projects in the Schuylkill, Delaware, and Susquehanna rivers.

This free seminar is open to all ages and ability levels - new fishermen will learn basic skills and expert anglers can brush up on their knowledge. Mr. Waterfield will be covering a wide range of topics including the basics of successful fishing (equipment, techniques, seasonal patterns, and local opportunities) and the biology of freshwater fish.
