NORRISTOWN, PA — Five men have been arrested in connection with the Norristown shooting of a young woman that left her paralyzed, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday. Two others were injured in the shooting.

Two of those suspects remain wanted.

Ziyker Washington, 20, who was captured by U.S. Marshals Jan. 13 in connection with the unrelated killing of 19-year-old Hamid Boyd in Nov. 2025, faces an additional six counts of aggravated assault. Washington was a part of a gang called "1200," and police said they're investigating the shootings as part of the escalating gang violence in the area.

Washington and Benjamin Lee, 18, of Norristown, pulled into the Shell Gas Station at 1703 Markley Street at around 6:30 p.m.

Video surveillance footage shows the pair exit their vehicle, walk into the convenience store, purchase something, and then return to the vehicle, where Lee begins taking photographs of Washington, police said.

That's when Washington spotted a black Cadillac SUV driven by Milan Dean-Brewer, 22, enter the lot. The DA said Washington immediately raised his firearm and began shooting.

The Cadillac tried to speed off, striking a curb but eventually getting away and making it to the 1600 block of Powell Street, where emergency responders found them. Dean-Brewer was shot in thigh. One of his passengers, 21-year-old Jayla Dinolfi, was shot in the back, while a third 16-year-old victim suffered a hand injury, police said.

While the others recovered, Dinolfi was left paralyzed, police said.

Washington and Lee fled the scene.

The motivation for the shooting is not clear, though an affidavit of probable cause states that some Norristown area gangs have a "shoot on sight" mantra for certain individuals.

"These recurring acts of violence were not isolated incidents but were instead spawned by an escalating gang conflict primarily involving multiple rival hybrid street gangs, their members and their associates," the affidavit adds.

The investigation determined that Derek Moore, 27, of Philadelphia, made a straw purchase of the firearm for Washington between 41 and 45 days before the shooting, police said. That purchase was made at Treeline Sports in Norristown.

Moore then sold the weapon to Washington, police said, as neither Washington or Lee were legally allowed to own firearms.

Further investigation found that Moore had made five straw purchases around the region: on Dec. 10, 2019 and July 23, 2025 at Delaware Valley Sports in Philadelphia, on Nov. 28 and Dec. 2, 2025 at Treeline Sports, and on Nov. 30, 2025 at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Warminster, according to the DA.

Dayvir Hardcastle, 24, of Norristown, and Ramel Dwayne Waddell Jr., 24, of Philadelphia, drove Moore and helped him deliver the weapons to Washington and others, officials said.

Washington remains at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, with new charges of aggravated assault of possession of firearms prohibited filed against him.

Lee was charged with two counts of possession of firearms prohibited. He failed to post $100,077 bail and remains at the correctional facility.

Hardcastle was charged with corrupt organizations, conspiracy, illegal sales of firearms, possession of firearms prohibited, and more. He did not post $500,077 bail and remains at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Preliminary hearings for all three are set for March 13.

Both Moore and Waddell, who face similar charges to Hardcastle, remain wanted.
