"Please don't let our baby go. Please we need to save him."

The community is rallying together around a Norristown dog struck by a car on Thursday night.

Diesel, a blue-nose pit bull that is a year and a half old, suffered several severe injuries when he was struck, including a punctured lung, a fractured humerus, and a fractured jaw bone, his owners said.

He needs surgery, but it’s going to cost his owners.

They’ve created an online fundraiser to help pay for $8,000 of the costs.

“Please don’t let our baby go,” his owners said. “Please we need to save him.”

The fundraiser was launched on October 22. Over the weekend, the amount raised nearly tripled, from $715 to $2,078, as of Monday morning.
