Get Vaccinated To Find Love, New Montco COVID Campaign Urges
New campaigns in Montco targeting the younger crowd are attempting to connect dating and the vaccine.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Officials in Montgomery County are pulling out all the stops when it comes to getting the vaccine into the younger population.
As the latest resurgence of the virus continues, a new advertising campaign takes aim singles in the county between the ages of 16 and 30, the age range with the lowest vaccination rate. And instead of attempting to incentivize with cash prizes and other free goodies, the county has decided to "use love as the ultimate reward for getting vaccinated."
"Acknowledging that people are especially eager to re-enter the social scene after more than a year of being cooped up indoors, (the) campaign takes aim at reminding younger people of just what they’re missing out on by putting off such an important task – in particular, dating," officials said in describing what they're calling "Shot at Love."

The campaign includes a video spot, social media and outdoor ads, and will also feature special nights out at some of the county's bars, during which "Cupid" will be making the rounds and handing out vaccine literature.
While 63 percent of the county's population has received at least one shot, only about half of the 16 to 30 population has done so.
