MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Giant is launching a new program at their supermarkets across Montgomery County and Pennsylvania to make it easier for customers to identify and purchase local foods.

The new Buy Local intiative will highlight items made in Pennsylvania with a "PA Preferred" tag. More than 900 items, raning from meat and poultry and pet food to condiments, snacks and beer will receive the tag.

"It’s a win-win for consumers and the agriculture industry alike," Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding said in a statement. "And will help shoppers better connect their food to the farm, helping to strengthen the relationship Pennsylvanians have with local producers.”
