Gotwals, Cole Manor Named Title 1 Distinguished Schools

Several local school elementary schools receiving federal supplemental aid have been honored as distinguished, the Pennsyvlania Association of Federal Program Coordinators announced.

Title I is a supplemental education program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies to improve educational opportunities for educationally deprived children.

“Distinguished” schools ranked among the highest five percent of Title I schools based on aggregate math and reading PSSA or Keystone scores. A total of 96 Title I schools were honored.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education Division of Federal Programs honored the schools at a conference on February 7 in Pittsburgh.
