Grab A Cup Of Coffee With A Norristown Cop...At The Zoo

The next coffee with a cop event has been scheduled, and this time, it has an interesting twist.

The Coffee with a Cop event is returning to Norristown on Sunday, September 6.

But instead of holding the event at a typical coffee shop in the borough, residents can meet police at the Jus’ Java in the Elmwood Park Zoo.

The event will run from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The event is meant to increase and improve dialogue and trust between the police force and the community.

“No agenda, no speeches: just a chance to voice concerns and get to the know the officers in your neighborhood,” the event flyer reads.

It’s the third such event in the borough this summer. The last ”Coffee with a Cop” event took place on July 21.

We’re not here to lock people and throw them in jail,” Norristown Police Chief Mark Talbot told Philly.com in a recent feature, which highlighted Talbot’s work in improving police interaction with the community.

In total, 22 different police departments in Montgomery County hosted coffee events in June for officers to engage with the public.
