Hatboro Police To Hold National Night Out On Friday

Horsham is celebrating Tuesday, but Hatboro's event will take place on Friday.

The Hatboro Police Department will hold their National Night Out on Friday, August 7 at the Shopper’s Parking Lot on York Road and Moreland Avenue.

The completely free event will run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The National Night Out takes place in towns across the county to increase crime, drug, and violence prevention awareness, to strengthen anti-crime initiatives, and to improve relationships and partnerships between the community and the police.

Law enforcement displays from Hatboro and around the region will be featured, including children’s fingerprinting kits and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s mobile crime unit, described as the ”real CSI Team.”

The Sheriff’s department will be on hand with K-9 units, bomb equipment, DARE literature, and information on the seniors Triad program.

The SWAT team and canine team will provide demonstrations, and the Hatboro first responders and firegithers from the Enterprise Fire Company will be on hand.

Games, prizes, give-aways, a balloon artist, raffles, and more activities for children will also be available.

The even is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and the Hatboro Police Department.

Nationally, over 15,000 communities from all 50 states participate in the event that was established in 1984.
