Henri Bendel Luxury Store Closing At King Of Prussia Mall

Famed luxury store Henri Bendel is shutting down all 23 of its locations, including in the King of Prussia Mall.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Famed New York-based luxury fashion brand Henri Bendel is shutting down its operations, including its store at the King of Prussia Mall.

Its parent company, L Brands, has owned the business since 1985. Along with King of Prussia, the other 22 Henri Bendels around the nation will shut down next January.

L Brands said in a statement that they planned to invest in "more profitable labels."

“This decision is right for the future growth of our company, but not easy because of the impact to our L Brands family," said Leslie Wexner, the chairman and CEO of L Brands, in a statement. "I want to thank our Bendel associates for their dedication to this iconic brand and to our loyal Bendel customers.”

The iconic flagship location of Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan will remain open through the holiday, the company said.

All employees staying with Henri Bendel through January will be given retention bonuses. Once the stores close, employees will be invited to interview for other open positions within the company, accoding to a press release.
