Homes Destroyed In Bridgeport Fire, 3 Hospitalized

The destructive blaze took everything from multiple Bridgeport families.

BRIDGEPORT, PA — Three people were injured and multiple families displaced in a fire at a home in Bridgeport on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning on the 500 block of Grove Street.

It's not yet clear what caused the fire, and it remains under investigation.

When firefighters arrived, some of the victims were trapped on the roof of the home, officials said. One woman had leapt from the roof to the ground to safety and was injured in the fall, NBC Philadelphia reports.

That woman and two others were transported to the hospital.

The fire was brought under control in less than two hours, officials said. However, two homes were destroyed.
