Honey Bee program, July 17th, Norristown Farm Park
On July 17th at 2:00 pm there will be an informative program on honey bees at Norristown Farm Park given by the park's beekeeper, Don George

Meet the park's resident beekeeper, Don George. Don will explain the challenges facing modern beekeepers and the reasons for the decline in the honey bee population. He will describe how you can help the honey bee at home, even if you have no interest in becoming a beekeeper. Information will be provided on honey bees and participants will see an observation hive first-hand. The equipment used for bee keeping will be showcased. Don will outline the costs involved should you wish to get into this rewarding hobby yourself. A sign-up sheet will be available for anyone wanting to attend a beginner's course on beekeeping in 2017. Meet in the 'salt wing' next to the park office. Ages: adults and children 12 and up. Free program. Pre-registration is required: 610-270-0215.
