Here's How Hot It Got During The Brutal Heat Wave In Eastern PA

Searing temperatures and humidity have made for a dangerously hot summer in the greater Philadelphia area.

EASTERN PA — The recent severe heat wave brought several days of dangerously high temperatures to communities around the greater Philadelphia area. The latest bout of heat marked what has already become one of the hottest summers in Philadelphia area history, with numerous high temperature records already snapped.

"At Philadelphia, the average number of days per year with high temperatures at or above 95 degrees is 7," the National Weather Service's Mt. Holly, New Jersey branch said. "As of Tuesday (July 9), we've reached 8 days so far this year."

Here's just how hot it got at several locations in eastern Pennsylvania. While these figures represent the high temperature in Fahrenheit, the humidity helped the heat index soar to well over 100 degrees on consecutive days.
