Water Service Restored In Norristown

NORRISTOWN, PA — Hundreds of Norristown residents remained without water Wednesday morning as work continues to repair a water main break.

At around 2 p.m., the municipality said that Pennsylvania American Water was in the process of restoring water service. a PennDOT inspector is on site conducting analyses.
Roadway closures will remain for a few more hours as repairs continue.

Pennsylvania American Water said their crews worked through the night to repair the break on DeKalb Street at the intersection with Elm Street.
Work was originally expected to be completed by around "midday."
"We appreciate everyone's patience," PAW said.
A total of 94 homes are impacted, with hundreds of total customers left without drinking water, the municipality said.
Bottled water is being distributed by Pennsylvania American Water, and there is a potable water tank at 1007 DeKalb Street for residents to fill their water up at.
DeKalb Street and Elm Street remain shut down until further notice.
The issue comes as extreme heat moves through the area, with the heat index soaring to 106 on Wednesday.
